Greetings ~

U-Haul, it seems, has been around since the dark ages. Actually, it's been around since 1945. I have been renting U-Haul trucks since my first move in the late 1960s. I once rented from another company and had a bad experience. I won't name that company. But I returned to U-Haul simply because they have the best policies and prices. I heard horror stories from others who have rented from U-Haul but never payed them any mind as I have always had good luck with the company.
I had no idea about the family's troubles and their scandals. Nor do I care. After all, that is THEIR business, not mine. As long as the company treats me right, I will continue to do business with them.
I've also heard people say that they would never do business with a company run by such a big family with their problems. I ask them why they shop at Walmart? The Walton family is no prize themselves.
I remember back in 1968, driving the hills and mountains of Cook Forest, Pennsylvania at 9:30 at night in a U-Haul truck loaded with all my worldly possessions. I was 18-years old. The truck ran great and I had no problems at all.
In 1975, my wife and I were moving to a new home and had decided to move everything in my old 1965 Chevy Suburban panel truck. I knew it would take a lot of trips. However, after four trips of the move, and seeing that we still had tons of stuff to move, I decided to get a U-Haul to do it all in one load. So, like an old friend, U-Haul has always been there for me.
Most people that are moving are young and can do the work. And most are on a limited budget. U-Haul is the answer for these people. Plus they have the equipment such as dollies, boxes, packing tape, packing peanuts, etc. And the best part, there's no crap! You go in, and you rent a truck, or trailer. That's it! As long as you have a decent driving record and a valid license, you can rent. Plus you can use your own insurance or get it from them for a small additional fee. You can be in and out in around 30-minutes. So, if your getting ready to move, or you have something to pick up that is too big to fit in the back seat of your VW, check out U-Haul.

On this blog we see the history of U-Haul, you'll see vintage and newer photographs and yes, you will read about the family scandals.
